HISTORY
Sand Castle is the best kept secret of South Padre Island. Sand Castle was one of the first condominiums ever built on South Padre Island. It was first incorporated in October 1973 by Bill & Jean Moore as Sand Castle Number One. Sand Castle Number One was comprised of 4 main buildings, now known as Buildings A, B, C, & D. Sand Castle operated independently until Craig and Christina Sparling decided to purchase a fifth building (Building E) and the empty lot between D & E Buildings back in October of 2008. The Sparlings called Building E Sand Castle II Condominiums and the empty lot became Sand Castle III. In April 2017, the 3 Sand Castle Condominiums decided to merge their Bylaws and become one entity. This decision allowed the Sand Castle Regime to become one and take back ownership of the land under the Kingfish Street. This allowed Sand Castle Condominiums to petition the City of South Padre Island to become a Gated Community.
